Sherlock Holmes: A Review
February 23rd 2010 12:24
Again, reviews of this movie has been good before I watched it (seems to be a recurring pattern here) and in modern times it has been said that movies don't have a 'break-in' time of a few weekends, they have ONE weekend. With the advent of Twitter and IMs; there is no reason for a good (or bad) review to NOT spread like fire.
Anyway, "Sherlock Holmes" stars two very good actors, Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law plus being directed by Guy Ritchie; and it shows.
It has the classic London-West End (?) style with the strength of Robert Downey Jr. (plays care-free, strong, talented and rich characters well [read "Iron Man") and Jude Law reciprocates with an apt performance as a young and slightly composed character.
The film starts out rather unbelievable but slowly turns into an action-thriller of sorts as the characters get developed , love interests enter the story and the general feel of the movie bobs along.
A definite must watch if you are a fan of either Robert Downey Jr or Jude Law.
2.5 out of 5 stars.
